Amazing Day
What can 180+ people accomplish in 2 1/2 hours on a Sunday when they would regularly be in church? I don't know for sure but ask the countless people who were served fresh doughnuts in area hospitals, had gas pumped for them at the service station, stepped outside to a litter free street or had lunch waiting for them after checking on their child who is receiving treatment at Children's hospital. They might be able to give you a better idea of what that group of people can accomplish. Today was an amazing day for West Lonsdale Baptist Church and it's members. As promised, the doors were shut today and the church was closed, so we gathered in the parking lot, prayed and headed out to serve. God held off the rain and we went to work and I think that we and a small part of Knoxville are better off for it. Thanks to all of you WLBCers who came out today for something that you maybe weren't quite sure about. A big thanks to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for cranking out 50 dozen hot glazed rings of heaven in under three hours. And a huge thanks to Mike McCarthy for the great job on covering the events for WVLT tv. Most importantly thanks to the God of impossibilities who once again proved himself faithful in making flawed people tools that He can use to reach others. Thanks for reading.
